Founded by Michael Shaw
A craft honed on the tools
Shaw Spray Ltd started where so many great trades do — in accident repairs, learning to lay down a flawless finish where there's no hiding a mistake. That obsession with getting the finish right became the foundation of everything we do.
We specialise in on-site spray finishing: refinishing surfaces in place rather than ripping them out and starting again. For homeowners that means transformed kitchens, UPVC, staircases and garage doors without the cost and upheaval of replacement. For contractors it means structural steel, architectural metalwork, cladding and intumescent coatings applied to specification on live sites.
From there, Michael Shaw moved into on-site spraying for cladding companies including Laksmere and Prater, bringing a controlled, workshop-quality finish to live sites. We went on to win office-building fabric walling maintenance for clients including Bloomberg, and were trusted with sculpture projects for the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Porsche Museum — work where the finish simply has to be perfect.
Today we're a team of six permanent staff plus trusted subcontractors, organised into three gangs so we can mobilise quickly across the South East — from a single kitchen in Worthing to a full commercial coating programme in London.
