Overview
Kitchen Respray explained
A kitchen respray refinishes your existing doors, drawer fronts and units to a smooth, hard-wearing, factory-grade coating — the same premium coating systems used on new furniture, applied to the kitchen you already own.
Who it's for
It is for homeowners in Worthing and across West Sussex whose kitchen is structurally sound but looks tired, dated or scuffed, and who want a dramatic change without the cost, waste and disruption of ripping everything out.
When it's needed
The right time is when the layout still works for you but the colour is dated, the finish is chipped or peeling, or you simply want a fresh look before selling or settling in — long before you resort to a full replacement.
Why go professional
Professional spraying matters because a lasting kitchen finish depends on correct degreasing, keying, priming and controlled off-site application. Brush-and-roller attempts leave marks, stay soft and fail within months; our sprayed coatings cure hard and wipe clean.
The cost of leaving it
What happens if it's ignored
Putting the job off — or trusting the wrong finish — rarely stays a small problem.
- Left as-is, a dated kitchen quietly drags down how the whole home feels — and how much buyers offer when you come to sell.
- Chipped and peeling doors trap grease and moisture in the exposed edges, so the damage spreads and gets more expensive to put right.
- Ripping out a working kitchen to replace it costs many times more, generates skips of landfill, and leaves you without a kitchen for weeks.
- DIY painting and 'kitchen wrap' kits look acceptable for a few weeks, then peel at the handles and around the hob where they are touched most.
How we work
Our process, step by step
A clear, proven system that removes the guesswork and delivers a finish that lasts.
- 1
Free survey & quote
We visit, measure, agree your RAL colour and finish, and give you a written fixed quotation before any work begins.
- 2
Remove & protect
Doors and drawer fronts come off and go to our controlled spray facility; carcasses and worktops are masked and protected in your home.
- 3
Prepare & prime
Every surface is degreased, keyed and primed so the topcoat bonds properly — the step that decides whether a finish lasts.
- 4
Spray off-site
Doors are sprayed in dust-controlled conditions with premium coating systems and left to cure fully before handling.
- 5
Reinstall & guarantee
We refit everything, align the doors, clean down and hand back a usable kitchen backed by our 10-year workmanship guarantee.

In detail
Kitchen Respray: materials, methods and more
Coating systems and materials we use
We specify premium coating systems from Sherwin-Williams, Cromadex and Morrell's Wood Finishes, chosen to suit the substrate of your doors — whether painted timber, MDF, foil-wrapped or previously sprayed. Each system is matched to a compatible primer and applied at controlled film thickness so the finish cures hard, resists knocks and cleans easily. Colour is matched to the RAL system, giving you a consistent, repeatable reference for the exact shade on every door and drawer front.
Why off-site spraying gives a better finish
Refinishing doors in our controlled facility rather than in your kitchen removes the two biggest enemies of a flawless finish: airborne dust and inconsistent conditions. Off-site, temperature and cleanliness are controlled, coats are applied evenly on flat surfaces, and each door cures fully before it is handled. That is what produces the smooth, self-levelled, factory-grade look you cannot reliably achieve with a brush and roller in a lived-in room.
What we can and can't respray
Solid timber, MDF, and most factory-finished and previously painted doors respray extremely well. Heavily water-damaged or delaminating fronts are assessed individually at survey — occasionally a small number are better replaced before spraying, and we will tell you honestly at quotation stage rather than coat over a failing door. Handles, hinges and worktops are not part of the coating but we can advise on updating handles for a coordinated finish.
Kitchen resprays across West Sussex
Working from our base on the Northbrook Trading Estate in Worthing, we respray kitchens for homeowners across West Sussex, Brighton & Hove and the wider South East coast. Being genuinely local means fast survey visits, same-day enquiry responses and a team you can actually reach — not a national franchise passing your job to a subcontractor.

FAQs
Kitchen Respray — your questions answered
How much does a kitchen respray cost?
Kitchen resprays start from £1,200. The exact price depends on the number of doors, drawers and units and the finish you choose — every quotation is free, fixed in writing and based on a survey of your actual kitchen.
How long does a kitchen respray take?
Most kitchens are completed within a few days. Because doors and drawer fronts are refinished off-site, your kitchen stays usable throughout and is fully back in service from the day they are reinstalled.
Can you match any colour?
Yes — we work to the RAL colour system and offer a wide range of shades to match your home and taste. We confirm the exact colour and finish with you during your free survey.
Will the finish chip or peel?
Not when it is prepared and applied correctly. We degrease, key and prime every surface before spraying premium coating systems that cure hard, which is why we back every kitchen with a 10-year workmanship guarantee.
How long will a sprayed kitchen last?
A properly sprayed kitchen is built to last for many years of daily use. Our 10-year workmanship guarantee reflects the durability of the coating systems and preparation we use.
Do I need to empty my kitchen?
You will need to clear the contents of the units and worktops so we can work safely, but you do not need to move out. We mask and protect the room and carry out the spraying itself off-site.
Is respraying really cheaper than a new kitchen?
In almost every case, yes — significantly. You keep your existing units and worktops and only pay to transform the surfaces you see, avoiding the cost, waste and weeks of disruption of a full rip-out.
Do you cover my area?
We respray kitchens across Worthing, West Sussex, Brighton & Hove and the surrounding South East from our Worthing base. Get in touch and we will confirm cover for your postcode.
